Amy Fairchild CD Release - Cliff Hillis opens

Saturday, April 29th, 2017 - 7pm

Northampton, MA marks the beginning of Fairchild's musical career with the release of her first record, "She's Not Herself' which quickly garnered high honors from local papers and revealed Amy to be a talented songwriter who deftly gets to the heart of the matter. Fairchild truly came into her own when she teamed up with songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Adam Steinberg and in 2002 released, "Mr Heart." Songs from this record went on to receive high honors in multiple songwriting contests, including first place in several categories in The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Maxell Song of the Year and Billboard World Song Competition. Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone said, "If there still was a recording industry, this would come out on a major label and would be such a big hit you'd be sick of her by now. Not many people make records this good." Since then she's toured extensively, opened for countless others (Ben Folds, Joan Osborne, Robbie Fulks, Paul Brady, Pat Benetar and others) and continued to write and record. Now living in Boston, she's showing no signs of stopping, releasing her 5th cd (yet to be named!) also produced by Adam Steinberg, this April.

Cliff Hillis Opens

Cliff Hillis is a Philadelphia area singer/songwriter with a style that evokes the sunny pop of the 60's and 70's while sounding fresh and new. The EP "Love Not War" contains seven new songs, two of which have been getting airplay on Triple A radio (88.5 WXPN, 90.5 WBJB, 98.1 WOCM) and satellite radio Sirius XM "The Loft". The songs feature an eclectic mix of strong melody and thoughtful lyrics with a lush musical backing from musicians such as Patrick Berkery (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Pernice Brothers, Wesley Stace) on drums, Jason Loughlin (Amos Lee, Rachel Yamagata) on guitar as well as Mike Molnar's (The Bellfuries) signature Telecaster twang on "The Buddha's Belly". Hillis' work has recently garnered praise from notable songwriters.

"Cliff is taking some chances while also delivering some solid pop production, the stuff you'd expect from a big fan of big pop. it's a blast to listen to." - Mike Viola, acclaimed recording artist, producer, and composer

"You know who's really good? Cliff Hillis." - Rhett Miller, singer/songwriter, Old '97s
