Taylor Holland "Home" Release Show w/Special Guests Karl and Elise Leavy
Boston based singer songwriter Taylor Holland belongs to a wave of folk writers who are thoughtfully, passionately, progressively combining an old tradition with new topics. An artist "with the rare ability to connect directly and deeply," her songs are described as "aware, intense, inviting and purposeful." Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, she performs extensively throughout New England, often with her band Hawthorn. Together with the Goodrich collective, she curates a monthly listening salon in her home of Jamaica Plain.
Bassist and vocalist Brittany Karlson is an adventurous musician with roots in jazz, American fiddle music, and improvised music. She has performed across North America and Europe in a variety of ensemble settings and is a current member of old-time quartet the Goodbye Girls, improvised trio Letter Castle, and original music project Karl. As a leader and composer, she released album Feast Day under the moniker Karl on Lungbasket Recordings in 2015. She is currently based in Boston, performing, teaching, as well as studying the Alexander Technique in a three-year teacher training course under the direction of Ruth Kilroy.
