Savoir Faire, Jocelyn Limmer, Kaylee Federmann

Savoir Fare

With lyrics to contemplate, guitar riffs to empower, and a vintage heart, Savoir Faire is singer and guitarist Sarah Fard's musical endeavor. Her music is armed with a love for nostalgia and a drive for social change. Savoir Faire's vocals evoke the stylings of jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, while at the same time echoing contemporary singer songwriters such as Fiona Apple. Her guitar playing serves the role of both a textural background of smooth jazz chords, and a leading force of memorable melodies with grit. Whether taking in a solo performance, or a set backed by a full band, Savoir Faire has been said to transport audiences to the likes of a jazz cafe in France in the early 1900s.

Lyrically, Savoir Faire brings to the table ideas that are most important to her. Her passion for education, equality, and empowerment are also evident outside of her music: Sarah Fard is a Boston area educator who is an active advocate for equal representation in the music industry, as well as equal access to music education for all. She created the website The Evolving Guitarist, to aid both teachers and students in differentiating guitar instruction, and works with the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs in various capacities. Sarah also started the "A Guitarist Is" series via social media platforms, in an effort to diversify the definition of the guitar hero. Through these efforts, Sarah actively seeks to take action towards many of the social issues that Savoir Faire addresses in song.

Jocelyn Limmer

Walking the line between playful and intimate, Jocelyn Limmer is an original jazz-pop artist whose heartfelt melodies and confessional lyrics explore the strength within the feminine experience of vulnerability. Her first two releases, Hindsight (2011), and Those Three Words (2014), feature piano-driven songs and sultry vocals about romantic disillusionment and the dark side of fairytales. Her forthcoming album, As Lovers Go, is a musical journey through a doomed relationship whose songs unflinchingly tackle subjects like codependency, fantasy, and the struggle to love oneself first, all with an underlying tone of wry optimism. Her shows are a reflection of her songs: intimate, connected, and occasionally imbued with irreverent humor.

Kaylee Federmann

Kaylee Federmann is a fresh, young pop artist with a unique style that blends acoustic feel with modern synth for an upbeat yet soulful vibe. Her original music captivates listeners with poetic and relatable stories reflecting her coming of age after a family tragedy. Strongly influenced by her dad’s love of 60’s and 70’s music, Kaylee grew up listening to Carole King, ABBA, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benatar, and The Beach Boys. After her dad passed away from cancer, Kaylee began to write, sing and play in ernest. Today, her rhythmic and heartfelt songs envelop listeners in poignant longing, joyful appreciation and even get-up-and-dance excitement.
