Savoir Faire, Unnamed Colors

With lyrics to contemplate, guitar riffs to empower, and a vintage heart, Savoir Faire is singer and guitarist Sarah Fard's musical endeavor. Described as "jazz noir," the music of Savoir Faire combines stylings of classic jazz with a twist from alternative rock influence. Sarah's music is armed with a love for nostalgia and a drive for social change, as evident in her lyrics. Her passion for education, equality, and empowerment are also evident outside of her music: Sarah Fard is a Boston area educator who is an active advocate for equal representation in the music industry, as well as equal access to music education for all. She created the website The Evolving Guitarist, to aid both teachers and students in differentiating guitar instruction, and works with the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs in various capacities. Recently, she was a recipient of a 2018 Berklee Urban Service Award for her work with the community.

Sarah also started the "A Guitarist Is" series via social media platforms, in an effort to diversify the definition of the guitar hero. Through these various efforts, Sarah actively seeks to take action towards many of the social issues that Savoir Faire addresses in song.
